The Possibility of using Flared Gas to Generate Electricity using Combined Power Cycle

This work evaluated the possibility of generating electricity from flared gases through application combined power cycle (Organic Rankine and Brayton circle) which was simulated using Aspen Hysys. The data for stimulation obtained literature in terms process plant operating conditions. results simulation were presented material balance, energy costing, sensitivity analysis exergy analysis, is otherwise known as availability. major equipment plants were: pump, heat exchanger, compressor, combustion chamber (conversion reactor), an expender modeled a gas steam turbine respectively Hysys simulation. condenser cooler. balance agreement with principles conservation mass stead state process. costing total capital cost, utility cost installation $16,762,100.00, $70,661,490.00, $4,745,230.00, $11,323,700.00 $12,359,400.00 correspondingly. revealed that efficiency increase exhaust pressure (kPa), signifying increased 81.5% to 85% when raised 100 kPa 500 kPa. 72.6% 74.2% outlet 900 Finally, result inlet are 14187 kW 3710 respectively. indicates 26.15% or 10,477 destruction.
